    Tata Nano: Space and Interiors

The space of the small car is maximized in the inside for comfort, however taking a baggage is a concern. The back-engined Nano does not offer luggage space in the front, but actually behind. This space is smaller and may not gobble up much of your luggage. If you are not having rear passengers, you have an option of adjusting the rear seats to accomodate your luggage. Or if you have, then you are stuck with it.

The AC has been reported to be good enuf to combat the heat for April and May. As compared to the AC which comes with Maruti 800, it is better. (reports Zee Business)

Interior plastic is not top – notch and you may feel the cheap plastic keeping in the theme with its cost. So don’t be surprised.

  • Meera Sanyal to contest Elections!

Meera Sanyal, Country Manager at ABN AMRO India (a subsidiary undertaking of Royal Bank of Scotland) announced that she is taking a two months “sabbatical” so that she can contest from South Mumbai. This move is surprising since it is the first time a financial entity’s country manager is gunning for votes.

Meera has an charm and is impressing personality. I remember meeting her once and the very moment I was impressed with the way she carries her personality. I cannot imagine her prospects for elections, since she is going to contest the elections as an Independent and against much successful Milind Deora who is contesting from Congress. She would also have to face Mohan Rawale from Shiv Sena.

The ABN AMRO always had been involved in good will causes such as supporting street children and Meera has personally been involved at many occasions. With this move, the organization sends out a very strong message that apart from letting its employees take on NGO work or support their causes, they now can work for the public, for a Common Man.

With incredible experience working with ABN AMRO (now RBS) since 2000 after leaving ANZ Grindlays, it remains to be seen if Meera can pull the hat out of this elections.

  • Why Voting is compulsary, and why not?

Why Voting is compulsary, and why not?

Sm has some good reasons why Voting in Elections should be compulsary. I agree with all his points except that Voting should be Compulsary.

    http://realityviews.blogspot.com/2009/03/india-reasons-why-we-need-compulsory.html

I think it is a very debateable topic. Sm has mentioned what is a reality. I believe that all these can be followed without compulsary elections. The root issue remains that people need to educated. Have any one of you ever got a chance to read Advani’s blog. Read the comments and you would understand that even educated people fall blind and the youth is inspired by their family’s fan following.

  • Third Front: New Challengers at the bottom

Third front was launched today with much fanfare demanding a change. They said that Congress is corrupt, and BJP is religionsing politics. And a need for a third front is growing by the day.

But I wonder what will happen if they eventually get to decide who rules the roost. AIADMK cheif and former Actress, Jayalalita has expressed her desire to run for the top post as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the third front. Something that all allies have not given a go ahead publicly. TDP Cheif Chandrababu Naidu has said that he is out of race, HD Devegowda has also verbs. (more…)

Surprise Package for 2009: Massa says can’t match Brawn GP

Rubens Barrichello is a happy man. So is Jenson Button, Ross Brawn and his complete crew. These very people just four months ago were having their career in trouble. Rubens was quoted saying on the Official Formula1 Website “I am happy. I have been driving okay and physically I feel fine and honestly, after four months (away), I am surprised that my neck still has contact to my head! I am happy, really happy.”

  • What others say about Frieda Pinto: She is Good 🙁

Frieda Pinto takes front row seats at Channel?Ready-to-Wear Autumn/Winter 2009 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week at Grand Palais with the likes of Kate Moss,?Claudia Schiffer etc. Luck is surely on her side.

I was completely flattered when I read some comments about Frieda on some of the websites. There is a completely opposite view of what I and some of my fellow readers would have. I have quoted some comments here which shows the support for Freida in the international community.

Amanda: She is beautiful. But she’s really starting to get on my nerves -through no fault of her own. I just hate how much of a big deal everyone is making of her given that her part in Slumdog was really quite tiny, and required no acting skills at all. I’d rather really talented newcomers with full acting CVs get all the press, rather than just the pretty one

Catherine: She looks pretty. And she’s having fun. And i am first

Some even went on to complement her as equal to Jessica Alba

  • Its all about US and Slumdog

I am sure you are reading this first and exclusively on Hemal Shah’s Indianomics Blog.

The News Channels were happy to report that people who are affected by the Recession, who lost jobs were forced to stay in open areas around California, the US.

It seems the west is learning a few chapters from the east. While it is not yet the Slum situation there, but it looks like one. These people started living in tents setup in open areas.

Now it is not surprising why Slumdog Millionaire is so very hit in United States…

PS: I am not trying to make a muck about it and its not a joke in a bad taste, please take it lightly. My hearts are with those people…

  • A Mirror Story: Shooting in two countries

It is unusual this time around. You know why? A Shooting incident takes place in Germany, where a teen openly shoots in an school killing 17.

In the another continent named the Americas, a guys gets on a shooting spree in Alabama, US killing 10. Why is that these two incidents are common. Because both incidents happened in a public place, where the shooter had shot openly. I think this is an indication of how on can be hypnotize over the net to conduct some miss givings. Thought there are no offical indications, but I think these two guys were influenced by growing number of hate sites available on the internet.

  • Holi After Effects: Chemical Use proved Lethal

I had posted Holi wishing creatives, pointing to the need to avoiding chemical colors. My worst nightmare came true.

In Ambernath, a suburb that falls in Thane District, it was reported that atleast 74 children have been hospitalised due to playing holi with colors that were adulterated. These kids reportedly told their elders that their eyes are having irritation, and itching all over the body.  The worst, 5 more kids are in ICU at Thane Civil Hospital.

Why do you need to celebrate using Chemical Color? Are natural colors not available? Hell ya, they are. But Chemical Colors cost less and are easily soluable in water. Government should ban chemical colors.

Apart from creating risks of chemical reactions to the humans, they also create problems for other animals and plants. Imagine a stray cow drinking the water which is adultrated with these very chemical holi colors, or the poor stray dog which has to face the music from some drunk hooglians who colorize them.

In India, no one will come out voluntarily to step up and stand out for these issues and every one have only one thing to say – “Hum kya karega?”

Pity, not much people have visited my blog to heed the warnings I had set out for Holi…

  • Why does one have all the luck? Frieda, we ask you!

Frieda Pinto, the Slum Dog Millionaire Star (or shall I say crew) is having the luck in her strides. After being on the red carpet at Oscars, chosen by legendary film maker Woody Allen’s yet untitled movie and now, touted as the latest fashion icon by mag Vogue, being the face of the cosmetic major Estee Lauder; she is certainly benefiting the most amongst all.

The News has it that She is being roped in as the face of Estee Lauder. What more one could ask for?

  • Satyam Update: A new owner may be in sight

SEBI has authorized Satyam to sell up 51 pc stake to a bid winner. Following which, Satyam has begun the procedure to select a bidder by inviting for EoI’s from interested companies.

Bidders would have to submit their Expression of Interests (EoI) with a proof of availability of Funds to the tune of INR 1500 crore indicating the funds required to buy and run Satyam for a medium term. Though there is no base price mentioned for bidding, the amount can go up to INR 1000 Cr. After shortlisting the bidders, these individual companies would get access to critical information like Accounts and Legal, which may help them to conduct Due Diligence.

The Stock Market has reacted postively to this step. Already a few companies have made it clear they want Satyam to in their strides including Larsen & Tubro, Tech Mahindra, Spice Group, Fujitsu etc. IBM, which was reportedly interested for a while now has pulled out of the bidding process. This move is reasurring for its 40,000 strong workforce that they would finally see an end to their delima.

Some of these companies want the freedom to revise their bids after more information on diligence are shared. Their fear is well justified. What if they find something which is unviable?for their company?

  • Apple Safari 4.0: Something Very Different

Believe it or not, I have started using Safari leaving Firefox behind. Yes, the new Safari 4.0 (beta) has caught my attention and I am glued to it. A claimed whopping 150 features are waiting for you to explore them.

The most striking feature is the Top Sites which is ala Speed Dail of Opera and Most Visited on dashboard of Chrome.

Then you have a full History search and Cover Flow which are imported from Mac. You get a similar interface. Works effortlessly. The feature of auto completion of the web address is intelligent. Tabs are put on the top, and added animation like a slide bar has been thrown in when you want to bring two far ended tabs closer.

I love the way they have put it as against Opera and Chrome. Of-course it consumes more ram, but then if I have some extra ram to spare, then why not.

Now, a bit from the Web Designer and Developer View.
