  • A Noble prize for Filth

Well, this isnt what the Noble prize committee saying… but our own Environment Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh’s words.

He is right when he says that our municipality do not have proper mechanism for cleaning the garbage left behind by the citizens. Now how does that explain the efficiency?

I have a slightly different opinion on this.

Its people should also contribute by following proper disposal ways. Indians have a habit of taking things for granted. We all do throw things out in open and then we claim that the municipality isn’t doing its work. Secondly, there is no one who will stand infront of the municipality and question their work.

The babus have so much become accustomed with taking bribes, that for everything, they need something. Without which, your work request will keep lagging. I have heard so many stories, which makes me not to even approach anyone.

  • Red Bull display their machinery

Come Sunday and all the F1 fans can feast their eyes with a RBR F1 car doing rounds on the recently inaugurated Bandra Worli sea link. The RBR 02 2005 car of David Coulthard will cruise on the sea link. The authorities had given their NOC to the event management company for the event with a raider. The election commission has to also approve since the state elections are just so close. Initially plans were put on hold but with their approval coming, the car can zoom.

But there is a catch. The Red Bull team will not be able to display the true speed. David will have to run the car just 20kmph above the pit land speed. That is not exceeding the 100 kmph. This might be a bit disappointing for all the F1 fans and Red Bull. Hope to catch the glimpse of the RBR.

  • Rain gods back in Business

After my visit to Kerala last month, I was finally able to see those temperatures come down here in Mumbai. The mercury has certainly come down on the scale. I just love the fact that even at home, I no longer sweat like anything which was the case earlier. It so felt like it rained for the first time. The aroma of sand kicks my brains which suddenly goes back to the time I spent in Kerala. Its a welcome move by Rain gods. The Thunder and Lightening are just amazing to listen and see. Hope this continues for a week which will hope fully cool down the humid and hot environment.

  • Mud Slunging; Congress takes the credit

Mud Slunging; Congress takes the credit

I saw an advert in HT yesterday. And it was funny. It read “we thank the Democratic Front Government for not allowing price increase in electricity rates.” Now this is what I call a hit back with a bigger punch. Two weeks ago, Shiv Sena hit the roads protesting this move while MNS was busy with water issue. Its funny! Why do you need to thank the government on something that they are supposed to make sure it never happened at first place.

  • Finger Prints? Sorry, excuse me!

Now your friendly neighborhood cyber cafe wala will ask you to give your finger print before you can sit on the machine and start browsing. That is if Mumbai Police had its way.

Mumbai police recently had proposed that we should make it mandatory for everyone who is visiting a Cyber Cafe to have their finger print submitted. This recommendation has come up after series of cyber crime that is happening out of these cyber cafes.

Will you be comfortable with that? I guess no. Not for me. If I ever wanted to access internet over the public domain, I would not do so just because I have to share my finger print. I would rather go to a friend’s place or reach home to have my internet connected.

What this move will do is to close the cyber cafes and a boom for ISPs and Computer dealers in these gloom times. People will prefer to spend money and use it for a net connection rather have their finger prints scanned.

What is the guarantee that this will be foolproof? People can also steal my finger print! Why the hell should I leave my identity at risk?

  • The War of Boards

As you might know, there are various types of Boards which your school and colleges might be affiliated to. So when Maharashtra Government decided to put a Quota for SSC students who come from State Boards, it was pretty much obvious that the parents of students who studied in CBSE and ICSE are now knocking the court room doors. The swap ratio is not acceptable which as of now stands at 90:10. Funny as it might sound, but those students who belong to CBSE and ICSE who had scored 90% looking for decent college seats may not bag them at all.

From one point of view, this is also the right thing to do. Why not CBSE and ICSE have their own 11th and 12th? Though students who belong to these Boards are not much in numbers, they always end up taking the creamy seats and some others. That leads to a blank hole for the colleges by some thousands in numbers.

State board students are 2.7 lacks. Now that is where it sounds problematic. State Boards students are no less than CBSE, but these students pass through a good bad time, starting from the schools to examination and invigilating officers may put scores to their mood.

I accept this change! Hope this brings in more challenges.

  • Its really disturbing; are anti-social elements creeping up

Let me put the pic right here. Its disburbing, and is against law. Law of the land and the law of human being. Its a message that is spreading hatered and I strongly oppose it. Shortly after this post, I am going to share this picture with most of the leading media channels and newspapers and hope we can start the movement here.

    Reader Discretion Advised

I was shocked to see a message like this! It is usual to find graffiti on the Mumbai local train. I boarded the Kalyan fast from Byculla at 8.37 pm when I was on the way to my home. Unfortunately I was not carrying my deo, with which I would have removed this otherwise.

I am used to see some of graffiti on the inside of locals and those generally are of funny nature where friends write their names, sometimes their crushes or lovers names often. At times, it evens goes to an extent of giving numbers of call girls and boys! I ignore them since these are not those that hurt me bad.

But this one was different, it was disturbing and it was painfull. Who would have this kind off problem with Sonia Gandhi and Muslims? What wrong did they do? Is not India a free, democratic country for anybody having the right to follow their own religion?

It was done by someone who was saddened by the victory of Congress in the General Elections, 2009! Is some one really inspired by what Varun Gandhi said??? That is why he have been booked, but that is done more harm than good. Isnt it?

Why are these brothers of ours against us living peacefully in our own country? Without any differences in caste and creed, there are a lot of Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikh, Jains, Buddhists and others who take these trains everyday which gives India and its very financial capital with their man hours!

Why do you want to create a stirr again. Mumbai has left everything behind and has always looked forward to what the future beholds.

I would request one and all and specifically those who travel in these locals, do not go by them. If you can use a bit of your deodrant what you carry everyday to just remove these horrible message with a peice of rough paper, we can remove these messages. Deodrants work!

Make it clean, in the trains and our lives. Let’s pledge!

  • Aircel now in Mumbai

    Aircel now in Mumbai

With the launch of Aircel in Mumbai, the telecom competition has certainly getting heated up. For my dear readers to get a fair view of the services of Aircel in Mumbai, I decided to get hands on one. The following are the few details I have been able to get. The connection will be active from tomorrow so you may just have to wait to know more about its overall performance.

    The First Glance

Aircel was launched with a big bang in Mumbai at the Gateway of India and now the advertising banner shout very loudly about the arrival of a new competition. The branding of Aircel had always been different and with Dhoni now jumping as the brand ambassdor things look a lot better for Aircel.

    Costing and Ease

The Aircel sim and connection costs Rs. 99 as opposed to Airtel’s Rs. 20. Connection comes with a default talktime of Rs. 10. The biggest difference is that Aircel has launched the card in Mumbai as a full lifetime card only. That means, no validity recharges.

Other attractions include more talktime than the value of the voucher it self. For a recharge of Rs. 199, you get the value of Rs. 250. That is, a full Rs. 51 extra. Top that with Rs. 1500 Aircel to Aircel local call free every month for first three months and 300 local and National SMSes free.

Call cost per minuite has gone in a decreasing mode as call time increases. For example, if you call someone, the first local minute will cost you Re. 1, second minute will cost you Ps. 50, and the third minute ownwards will cost you Ps. 30.

For STD, the call rate for First minute will be 1.50 ps, second minute the cost comes down to Re. 1, and the from 3rd minute ownwards, Aircel will charge you with .75ps.

I have not been able to get more details on how the VAS charges are, but believe that would also be market shattering.

Wait for the full review as I start to explore serviecs of AircelMumbai.Network remains very important to me than any other parameter.

    Welcome to Mumbai, Aircel.

    Update 1:

Aircel Customer Care in Mumbai is not equipped with much information. I called up Aircel customer care to find out what are the charges for GPRS on Laptop and she was fumbling for an answer. I then had to switch my language to Hindi to make her understand what exactly I wanted. Not an issue as such since I know both the languages very well, but for those who speak English more often might just find the going though.

Anyways, the girl said that browsing internet on an Aircel phone using it as a modem will cost you 10ps. per 10kb. Oouch! That is too much.

    Update 2:

SIM activation has taken 3 days which is very bad for a new company to start off with. The customer care continues to be pathetic and not well versed with products and services. On IVR, you cannot go back to menu by pressing 8 as the lady’s sweet voice tells you!

Network remains the biggest issue. Though voice clarity is on par, but the connection is not constand while on the move.

    Update 3:

Network in closed areas goes to Zero. Network in Mumbai local keeps fluctuating, hence not consistant and more chances for call drops.

Hemal Shah’s List of Current Best Mobile Service Provider (GSM) in Mumbai:

Vodafone reigns on the top even after Reliance and Aircel came with onslaught with cheapest charges and more talktime. A distant second is Airtel in Mumbai which still has a negative network in Mumbai, though it runs on 1800/1900 Mhz.

Third position is shared by is Loop and Reliance, followed by MTNL and Idea at fourth. Aircel cannot be counted in the ranks because it has not got a fair amount of time to show what it can do.

  • Mumbai overheats as temp touches 40°C

Mumbai overheats as temp touches 40°C

    (Updated post here)

As such the summer is so undesireable in Mumbai, and to have temperatures break the roof is like hit on the face and at the back at the same time. On Wednesday, the maximum daytime temperature recorded was a maximum of 40.6°C.

It is too bad thing for me. I am sweaty person and it falls like Rivers and Waterfalls from my body. When I try to sleep in the night, it is all over my body. Since the whole day is spent in the comfort of Central A/c in office, when you come home you cannot possible bear the heat.

“But this is not unusual for summer. March too saw days when the daytime temperature rose up to 40C in the city, if April is so hot, how terrible will May be?” (more…)

  • Happy Valentines Day!

    Happy Valentines Day!

I wish all of you a very Happy Valentines Day! Well, it may not have been good for some of the couples who were beaten up (shown on the News) but to rest of them, hope that it was as good as it can be.

Mumbai had a peaceful Valentines day unlike last few years, which was a welcome change. The Police Commissioner of Mumbai told a news channel that they won’t allow people to do the Moral Policing which may involve violence. The Mumbai Police had made proper arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.

It was good to see this change and an initiative from the Police.

However there were series of actions in other parts of the country. In UP, Bajrang Dal Activist beat up a Brother – Sister thinking they were couple came under severe critisim from across the country. In Ujjain, a police sub inspector beat up a girl, pulled her hairs and kept draging her for a long time while people stood around and were being a mute spectator.

This kind of policing is not acceptable and Mumbai Police has shown the way to all other Police branches of the country that their Job is to protect people of this lovely country, and not beat up out of anger.

    Good Job, Mr. Hasan Gafoor.

  • Tata GSM, anyone? Choose your mobile service provider wisely.

Tata Tele is also planning of launching its own GSM services in late January or Mid February.

Reliance has already mopped up a huge crowd for its own GSM service, with a pathetic network [Read Reliance GSM Network Quality (Review) ]

Lets see what Tata’s  come up with.  It would interesting to see how all these would add up for Customer. The Customer would be confused with so many players to choose from. The total tally for Mumbai would be 7. These are Reliance, BPL, Vodafone, MTNL, Airtel, Idea, Tata. As for CDMA, TATA (including Virgin) and Reliance are the only service providers. No new service provider are in for CDMA.

The most important parameter I would rate any service provider is a combination of Service Quality with decent staff and Price at which they provide the service.

So, here is the survey to find out the Best of Mumbai’s (Maharashtra) Telecom Companies’ Services.

    Vodafone

Vodafone scores high on the Customer service front, though its on the decline from earlier when they were Orange and Hutch. However, in cost, it would score low and their network is only best of the rest. Network congestion has been a problem area for Vodafone for some time now, and call drops increasing by the day.

    Airtel

Airtel offers a great combination of packages with cheap offers. Its probably best used for GPRS which they offer @ Rs. 15 per day. But the customer service is the worst I have faced. To top it all, a week network makes it the most offensive. The recent survey tells that Airtel does not meet the service quality benchmark set by TRAI this year, citing huge number of call drops.

    MTNL

MTNL on the contrary offers a good mixture of both, but does not supersede any private player on either fronts. Network remains a good point, but coverage in most areas not too good.

    Idea

Idea has good customer service, and average plans for customers. Network remains a sore point for Idea. Abhishek has failed to entice users to Idea in Mumbai. They need to grow their network coverage.

    BPL

The fate of this company, once with the best network in Mumbai, remains to be in doldrums. BPL today is very shabby, ultra cheap and a bad customer care. It still has the good network they had always but it is now time to increase coverage area. Call drops have been few. They have enticed the young with a young image and probably are living up to their expectations to an extent. But the traditional users of BPL have been the oldies who had a strong brand recall for BPL as they had for Sony.

    Tata & Virgin

This is a company which is backed by a trusted brand. Tata has been on the move, and slowly and surely, they have moved up the ladder. They are not in for a dog fight. Their fares are low, and offer a superior customer services in Virgin guise, over and above what Vodafone offers. Network is good and call drops are few. Definitely, my choice of  service provider. Only let down, the handsets offered are cheap and basic. Need to have a vast collection of handsets, like Reliance does.

    Reliance CDMA and GSM

Reliance CDMA offers the best network in CDMA, betters Vodafone by a good margin. The availability of multiple handset choice with below average (if not worse) customer service is what its all about. Reliance plans and packages are good. The free calling between Reliance to Reliance is an awesome scheme. Every other operator has failed to put up such an alternative, of course which comes at a cost or 799 INR recharge. Good network coverage across India, and good packages for Data cards.

    Tata Indicom CDMA

Perhaps, the best bet of all, this is a real tough call to make. Reliance has already triumphed on most parameters, but when it comes to Trust and Quality, Tata Indicom leaves Reliance behind by a whisker. Sure, network of Reliance is better than Tata’s, call drops on Tata network more or less as same as that of Reliance. If you are a traveler across India frequently, you should think twice going for a Tata. The corporate choice for Data cards, Tata offers the best data card packages around.

    Summing it up

So, in the end it all boils down to who we should trust our money with! A provider can be chosen on basis your needs. If you a need a no nonsense, affordable service provider, TATA in Virgin guise has to be your choice. It gives you your basic communication needs a full satisfaction. It also tops on the charts of the Service Quality benchmark set by TRAI

For more than basic use of a mobile, trust Reliance in CDMA, And in GSM, Vodafone. Here goes the order.

Tata’s have truly lived up their hype, trust people put into.

    1. Virgin Mobile (Tata CDMA)
    2. Tata Indicom CDMA
    3. Reliance CDMA

    In GSM

    1. Vodafone
    2. MTNL
    3. BPL
    4. Reliance & Airtel
    5. Idea

Overall, Tatas emerge winner. Virgin is the brand you need to look for. If you need some thing more than virgin, go for Tata Indicom or Reliance. This stands true for both the GSM & CDMA. It seems CDMA is winning the race for quality and cost.

Good luck for your choice. Share your exprience with me. Post a comment here.

  • Using WIFI? Police will give you a visit

Using WIFI? Police will give you a visit

If you are using WI-FI in Mumbai, then be prepared for a police visit to your place. Mumbai Police, in its ambitious drive to secure the WI – FI users from any hacking organiaztionas/hackers getting into their network and use it.

This is a step taken after US Citizen Keith Heywood was targetted by terroists to send emails claiming their responsibility. The police will be armed with a laptop and security breach testing softwares. The Police will then suggest the changes to be done on the network so that the users can make the whole stuff secure. If they found that even after the warning, they dont do the changes which are suggested, the Police with fine them.

Pretty good way to secure our WIFI networks. Good Job Mumbai Police.

Author’s note: In these COVID19 times, going out must be avoided. It is perhaps a wrong time for us to be looking for romantic places, however love stops at nothing. Request all readers to be very careful, avoid going out if possible, wear a mask always.

    Girguam Chowpaty

Girguam Chowpatti - a great evening place for couples

Unlike the famous Juhu Chowpaty, Girguam Chowpaty (often spelled as Girgaon) is more sedate and calm, and is less crowded in comparison. It is also smaller, though as much beautiful. Many couples start walking from Nariman Point ending their walk into Girguam Chowpaty to grab a quick bite or a meal at one of the stalls there.

PRO TIP: The Pav-Bhaji here is delicious! In summers, end it with a Kala Khatta for desert.

P.S: Read some of my top videos and subscribe to my YouTube channel!

    Nariman Point

Another gem in the queen’s necklace, Nariman Point hosts several business houses, and is often well known as commercial part of South Bombay (SoBo). However, located at the far end of queen’s necklace, Nariman Point offers breath taking views of the sea, and hosts a lot of establishments offering delicious meals.

PRO TIP: You can take a long walk towards Marine Drive and back with your beloved in your arms. The experience is beautiful, a memory you may cherish long into the future.

    Marine Drive

A walk along the Marine Drive, holding hands of your lover often turns romantic. The cool evening sea breeze and the dusking sun are a perfect setting. Have an ice cream or peanuts, speak up to your partner and open your heart, pour all the love you have in this setting and you will have a time you will remember for a long time.

    Marine Drive (Credits: Wikimedia)

PRO TIP: Beware of Police here if you are sitting for long. It is known that some of the police personnel do have vested interest and pick up couples and lovers who could be vulnerable and threaten to inform their family members to extract a fine, for which you will never receive a receipt.

    Worli Sea Face

An extension of Marine Drive, Worli sea face is perhaps more beautiful than Marine Drive itself. It is most of the times, less crowded as well. With the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the sea for back-drop, the location is a new favorite among friends as well.

PRO TIP: Nehru planetarium is also close-by and a must visit. You can watch the late afternoon show, and then proceed towards the sea face for a fulfilling experience.

    Dadar Chowpaty

Dadar Chowpaty was recently in news for wrong reasons. It was filthy, and unclean for anyone to enjoy the place. However, there has been an clean up effort organized by some of the residents nearby, and has hence become clean place. Due to perception of it being unclean, the beach is less crowded and hence a great place to visit along with your lover for some private time.

PRO-TIP: Taxi’s are easily available outside Dadar Station to reach chowpaty. It is a preferred way for couples to travel to Dadar Chowpaty.

    Hanging Gardens

Located at the top of Malabar Hill, Hanging Gardens is a terrace garden on Arabian sea shore. The garden features numerous hedges carved into various shapes, water fountains and flowering plants. The gardens were built on top of a water reservoir to protect the water from contamination, and to enhance the beauty of the place.

Enjoy quality time with your loved one at Hanging Gardens. Talk and talk endlessly, give attention to him/her and make it the best of your time.

PRO-TIP: Best time to visit is during the early morning and early evening.

    Jijabai Udyan or Ranichi Baug

Erstwhile called ‘Victoria Garden’, this is the only Zoo in the city and one of the oldest in India. Relish the childhood memories with your loved one by spending time visiting the beautiful wild animals and support the existence of this iconic place.

PRO-TIP: Get in touch with the officials to inquire about adopting an animal, by offering to pay to feed for a period of time in your lover’s name. They would love it!

    Nehru Center

If you are an arts and theater fan, Nehru Center often has art or drama shows on its schedule. You can also visit the Science and Space Museum or pay a visit to the planetarium. The center also hosts organizers who conduct discount sales or exclusive product events.

PRO TIP: Nehru planetarium is also close-by and a must visit. You can watch the late afternoon show, and then proceed towards the sea face for a fulfilling experience.

    Mahim Beach

Mahim Fort is in ruins, and not a good place to visit.
Mahim Fort is in ruins, and not a good place to visit.

One of the seven islands, Mahim has a small beach and a fort. The fort lies in ruins, and is not at all maintained for you to visit. Encroachments have taken over the beautiful view that could otherwise be enjoyed by everyone else. However, if you insist, you can visit Mahim Beach since there will be little visitors here.

PRO-TIP: Avoid this beach unless you really want to.

    Juhu Chowpaty

The land of celebrities. Juhu is one of the most sought after residential area for celebrities from all walks of life. And it’s beach is very famous, and crowded. Even then, you can enjoy walking through the beach while the sun sets in the background, grab a quick bite of the famous chaat houses there. Pav Bhaji and Paratha from Paratha House are the most famous.

Juhu Beach / Chowpaty (Credits: Wikimedia)

You can also walk, hand-in-hand, with your lover to Versova beach (about 2 kms), while waves flirt with your legs. The long walk, the occasion peck on the head, can go a long way into solidifying the relationship. 🙂

PRO TIP: Avoid going there on holidays and weekends, since the beach tends to get over crowded and you may not get a decent, private time.

Bandra Bandstand & Fort – Lovers paradise

This has been the focal point for loves since years. To be sitting on the rocks with constant breeze and the smell of the sea, along with your loved one is the best place to be. Hold your hands and stare into each other’s eyes while you hear the breeze and of the waves can be a loving experience. Visiting the gates of Mannat, the house of King of Romance, is must if you are an SRK fan.

    Lovers Paradise Bandra Bandstand Promenade
    Lovers Paradise Bandra Bandstand Promenade

Castella de Aguada or Bandra Fort is one among few forts around Mumbai. Built by the Portuguese, the fort and bandstand area are scenic and instantly lovable. Since it is open area, there may be many stags who roam around, and can be pest at times. Also, transsexuals linger around and ask for money (although they are the first ones to alert you in case of any miss happenings). Fort is on the south end of the promenade, near Hotel Taj Lands Ends.

PRO TIP: If you are sitting on the rocks, beware not to venture further inside as the sea may rise on high-time. Many couples have got stranded in the area because they went too deep.

    Carter Road, Bandra

It is the sea face of the west-central Mumbai. Carter road is a posh locality, with superb sea side setting. There are jogging tracks and places to sit for long hours listening to the waves and feeling the cool Arabian sea breeze.

Similar to Marine Drive, but a different setting, Carter Road is one of the most visited by lovers and college goers. It is also a place which offers some privacy and places to sit and have a quite romantic conversation well into the evening. During the evenings and late night, this place tends to host a happening crowd.

    Versova/Silver Beach

Mumbai is blessed with a few beaches, and it will help if these are kept clean. Versova Beach is perhaps the cleanest beach now in Mumbai, and offers great view of the Arabian sea. Spend quality time in privacy with your love.

    Madh Island and beach

The city of seven islands no longer, Mumbai still has some island destinations around. Madh Island is one of them, beauty of which will leave you spell-bound. With the calm shores, mangroves and the sea breeze, this place is sure to get your romantic mood going. Though it will be expensive to hire rooms here, traditionally it is one of the most sought after destinations by lovers looking for some private time.

    Two Lovers
    Two Lovers

PRO TIP: Beware of any hotel you book, ensure you check the rooms for any hidden cameras. Also, do not deal with agents roaming around the place. For god’s sake, do not record anything on your phone either. Only travel in your own vehicle or one you rented for the day.

    Erangal Beach

Erangal is a sandy beach stretch in Madh Island area. If both couple enjoy fish, then this may be a great place for them. One can spend time on the beach, and watch fishes being brought from the sea and put to dry by the local fishermen. The landscape is beautiful, with hills on one side and sea on the other.

The beach is used to dry the fishes caught by the fishermen and hence the stench of dried fish is everywhere on the beach and surrounding areas.

PRO-TIP: Avoid visiting on Sundays and holidays if you are looking to have a private time with your lover. Carry your own water!

    Dana Pani Beach

Dana Pani beach is located on the Madh Island area, and is most frequented by couples for a lovely time.  Enjoy the vast expanse of the sea and rocks, with some snacks from the road side eateries. The approach road is near the beach, and hence you can also spend time sitting on the wall or in your car/on your bike.

By nightfall, most of the normal crowd goes away, due to lack of street lights. However, lovers stay back in darkness to have their own private time. The area is also known to have a lot of people drinking and creating nuisance, and hence staying after dark is not recommended.

    Lovers at the beach
    Lovers at the beach

If you are a large group of friends or many lovers, then stay behind to feel the breeze, listen to the waves and gaze the stars on a clear night.

PRO-TIP: Travel with your own vehicle, sit on the shore and enjoy the breeze. Carry your own water!

    Aksa Beach

“Tuje aksa beach ghumadu, aa chalti kya?” or so goes a popular Bollywood movie song. Aksa beach, off Malad and near Madh, is one of the best on the Mumbai Coast line. It is, however, more commercialized beach as compared to a few others in the vicinity. The beach is vast, however due to its fame, it tends to get crowded. It is recommended that you arrange for your own travel without relying on Rickshaw or local Taxi’s (Kaali-peeli).

Aksa Beach, near Malad suburb, Mumbai
Aksa Beach, near Malad suburb, Mumbai (Credit: SINHA, Wikimedia)

PRO-TIP: Do travel to this place if you have your own vehicle. The beach is far from Malad, and rickshaws and taxis do not ply on regular fare. Also, Ola and Uber will have limited availability. So be prepared if you are not traveling in your own vehicle.

    Marve Beach

Marve Beach is closest to Malad, however the beach itself is not much enjoyable. Marve is more of a jetty where you can get board a boat to either Global Vipssassana Pagoda or Essel World/Water Kingdom theme parks. If lovers want to experience peace then a visit to the Pagoda from Marve can be an enriching experience. Marve to Essel World is a longer route and takes more time as compared to Gorai (near Borivali).

Enjoy a ride on the boat and come back to the shore to treat yourself to Mumbai chat at the stalls.

    Manori Beach

If you miss Goa, and cannot go to Goa, then to to Manori Beach. It cannot replace your Goa experience in full, but is a great, calm and less crowded beach. You can easily find budget resorts here for stay.

Couples entry to stay unless your are married is often seen looked down up. It is however a great weekend get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and not too far away either. Burns a small hole in the pocket, Manori will not fail to surprise you.

PRO-TIP: DO not forget to carry Cash. Digital payments options are far limited, and nearest ATM is really far away.

PS: If you are booking a hotel, then make sure you buy the essentials!

Lovers in a forest – Borivali National Park (Kanheri Caves)

Its not a place to go for couples who are not interested in nature. There are many instances where lovers go there and exceed all limits of decency which is not at all appreciated. Borivali National Park is a place to visit for the nature.

If you want to spend a lovely time with your partner and take a glance at the nature, you will love it. The Kanheri caves have some of the nicest Buddhist art in the city, totaling near to 100 caves of all sizes. The park offers many attractions too.

Other places too are good for hanging out: Hanging Gardens, Horniman Circle Gardens, Juhu and Silver Beach, Chowpatty, Beach at Versova, Nehru Park etc.

    There is more!
